Kidde has recalled fire extinquishers across the U.S.

Per Township Fire Chief, Tom Brice, the Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled 40 million fire extinguishers. Read this from the State Fire Marshall:

“Dear Chiefs,

As many of you may have already seen or heard, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Kidde announced a large recall this morning of fire extinguishers with plastic handles (this does not affect detection devices). Nearly 40 million fire extinguishers are being recalled across the United States. The following links are resources that may be helpful for your departments: a letter from Kidde, the CPSC press release and a diagram for consumers.

Please distribute to contacts within your jurisdiction as you see fit. Ohioans’ safety from fire is our number one priority, so it is important to make sure this information reaches consumers in every corner of the state.
